Church vs Temple

First, let me say I had no idea that there was a huge Mormon Temple in Ft Collins.  Its beautiful.  I'm not mormon but interesting to know its there.

Anyways, apparently its a temple, not a church.... which led to What is the difference? Apparently big difference.

Basically churches are everyday places of worship.  Churches are open to visitors and Sunday services are held.  Temples are not open to the public.  Temples are used for religious ceremonies.  They are not used for Sunday services and usually closed on Sabbath.

Most the stuff I read was referring to Mormon temples so not sure if this is across the board definitions. If so, then the "temples" I have visited are actually churches.

Other questions this random thing I learned today led to - Is there that big of a Mormon following in Colorado?  Is this just the mormon definition?  Why is this in Ft Collins?  Anyways all questions I really don't need answers to, just interesting.

changing this blog ...

I have many blogs... I use none of them.  This was my photo journal that was last used in 2011.  I'm changing it.  It is now "Random Things I Learned Today".  I think I learn something everyday.  I usually don't retain it because mostly its just nonsense, trivia- worthy probably, but totally random knowledge.  I usually happen upon it by reading/seeing something, that leads to a random question.  With google being so handy, it's easy to get a quick explanation, and sometimes leads to more questions.  What would I do without google?

Anyways, this blog I may actually use - possible daily!  We shall see.  Stay tuned... :-)

30- Day Challenge-DAY 10

Day 10 - A picture of the person you do the most messed up things with.  Really?  What kind of question is this?  I'm going to have to say JJ White.... my best friend for many, many years.  We don't do that much together anymore because we have a few states between us but we'll always be best friends and we'll always remember the "messed up" things we did together.  :-)

30- Day Challenge-DAY 9

A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most.  I've thought for a while on this one.... there are a few people in my life that have gotten me through a lot of things.  But gotten through the MOST, I'm going to have to say my mom.

Followed closely by my dad, then JJ White and Angela Jackson (RIP).   Thanks to everyone for always being there for me!  I love you all!

30-day Challenge - DAY 8

Day 8 - A picture that makes you laugh.    Any pictures of my nieces make me laugh because all three of them are so cute and I love them so much.  I'm sure that my nephew would make me laugh too but I don't have any pictures :-(  But I miss them all!  Here's a few pictures.  :-)

30-day Challenge - DAY 7

Back on track with the 30-day challenge... told you this would take longer then 30 days.  Anyways, Day 7: A picture of your most treasured item.
My camera.
Actually my photos are my most treasured but it all starts with the camera.

I'm addicted to smoothies!

Really, no joke.  I bought this single serve blender at Walmart ($19.95)(thanks to Pavun for introducing me) and now I'm addicted to smoothies.... which is probably a good thing, because I never eat breakfast now I do.... kinda.  :-)
